April 18, 2020
Release Notes
We're pleased to present our 2020.1 Service Update. This release includes the following features and issue resolutions:
Features
You know those popup announcements that appear when you log into File Protection Manager? Those same messages will now be emailed to you so you don't miss any important messages from us if you haven't logged in for a while.
If your a client's File Protection trial period is coming to a close and they're enjoying their experience, you'll want to ensure service continuity. To that end, we'll now send you an alert email the day before a client's File Protection trial expires.
As we move towards consistency of presentation within the Datto universe and continue our efforts to provide the most elegant user experience possible, you'll see more and more streamlined and updated interfaces. With this release, we've redesigned the Manage your File Protection Manager account settings and Support Settings pages, as well as the Team detail, User detail, and Device detail pages.
Issue Resolutions
In addition to a variety of minor enhancements and stability improvement, the following issues are resolved in this release:
We've also improved our integration with ConnectWise.
Attempts to download more than one file from a previous version of a project or folder resulted in the download of the latest versions. Downloads of multiple files from a previous version now function correctly.
The service did not allow backup of network drives for metered plans. The File Protection service has been corrected to support backup of any external drive, whether connected directly or via the network.
Recycled File Protection Servers were not releasing the storage allocated to them as they should; storage was only freed up once the Server was deleted. Recycling a File Protection Server now frees up the storage that was allocated to the recycled Server.
