QUESTION   I intend to remotely deploy File Protection Desktop updates. How do I stop the system from prompting users to upgrade File Protection Desktop for themselves?

ANSWER  Clear the "Enable device upgrade notifications" policy profile option.

  1. In File Protection Online, go to Configuration > Policy Profiles.

    SECURITY  Only users with Full Access or Team Access privileges in File Protection Manager or Administrators may access this function.

  2. Click either Default Backup Profile or create a new backup profile. To learn how to create a new backup profile, refer to Backup Profiles.
  3. Click the Backup Preferences tab. For more information, refer to Backup Preferences.
  4. Clear the Enable device upgrade notifications check box.
  1. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
  2. If you have created a new policy, assign it to devices. Refer to the Assign a backup profile to devices section of Backup Profiles.
