QUESTION   Can I back up MS SQL and MS Exchange files?

ANSWER  Yes, you can!

Certain files types, in particular databases, can often fail to backup successfully because they are constantly being changed. For these files types, we recommend that you create a scheduled, automated snapshot (backup) within the software itself, then use File Protection to back up the snapshot.

To back up MS SQL Server and MS Exchange Server files:

  1. Use the internal backup function in MS SQL Server or MS Exchange Server to create a snapshot of your data.
  2. Mark the folder containing the .bak file created in step 1 for backup in .

NOTE  We recommend that you schedule regular snapshots of your SQL or Exchange files to ensure that is always backing up recent data.
