Manage linked accounts

Datto File Protection and Workplace allow you to have multiple accounts associated with a single email address. When you create accounts with the same email address in any of these services, you will be requested to link the new account upon next login to your primary account.

Accessing accounts where the email addresses match always requires login to the primary account first - once logged in, you can navigate to the linked secondary account.

IMPORTANT  If you log into an existing account before you have activated a new account, you'll be prompted to link the new account to the existing one. If you select the DO NOT LINK option, the new account will be deleted.

Accounts with alternative email addresses can also be linked to enable quick switching between those accounts.

How to...

  1. Click the team name at the top right corner of the screen.
  1. Click Link Existing Account.
  1. Enter the username and password of the account you wish to link.
  2. Click Find Account.
  1. Click Link Accounts.
  1. Click the team name at the top right corner of the screen.
  1. Your current account is identified by a check mark. Click the team you'd like to switch to.
  2. Enter your credentials.
  1. Click Switch.

NOTE  If you've forgotten the password for the account you're switching to, log out and click the Forgot Password link on the general login page.

  1. Click the name of your team in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Click the button. This will open the Manage Linked Accounts popup window.
  1. For each email address, select the radio button next to the account you wish to set as the primary account.

IMPORTANT  When you log in to Workplace Online, you must always use the password associated with the primary account.

  1. Click Save.
  1. Click the name of your team in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Click the button. This will open the Manage Linked Accounts popup.
  3. Click on the Unlink account icon, which is a red X.
  1. If you are unlinking an account that has the same email address, enter a different email address to be associated with the account to be unlinked.
  2. Enter the password for your current account (not the one you are unlinking).
  3. Click Unlink Account.
