File Protection Server and File Protection Desktop 8.3
February 15, 2021
Release Notes
We're pleased to announce the release of File Protection Server and File Protection Desktop for Windows 8.3.0.10, and File Protection Desktop for Mac 8.3.0.19, which include the following issue resolutions:
The Lock File Protection Device Configuration backup profile setting was not applied to File Protection Server in a persistent manner. The setting was applied when the server app was restarted, but the setting was not locked in the server application and could, consequently, be changed by the server administrator. The setting is now applied and locked when enabled in policy profiles.
For more general information, please refer to Backup Profiles.
Restoring empty folders resulted in the assignment of a random month and day to the restored folders. Curiously, the year 2038 was consistently applied to these restores. We've fixed the bug, refactored the code that handles timestamp functions, and all restored folders (even the empty ones) will now carry an accurate date stamp.
For more information about restores, please refer to Previous Versions.
